Abstract

Abstract. The article is devoted to the concernment of the didactic potential of video podcasting technology in creation and use of educational material in the practice of teaching a foreign language. In the article it is noted that with the advent of new information and communications and mobile technologies and their successful integration into the educational environment the process of learning a foreign language becomes more interesting, marked by emotional involvement of students and teachers, and thus more effective. The purpose of the article is to analyse the experience of using the possibilities of video podcasting technology in creating a methodological algorithm for developing educational materials based on LMS Moodle in order to teach foreign languages to students. The author defines the educational video podcast as a multifunctional authentic educational resource that corresponds to the theme of the foreign language curriculum and on the basis of which a set of various tasks for further use in the educational process is elaborated. The most significant methodological and didactic characteristics of the podcast are multifunctionality, multi-channel perception of information and individual orientation. There are five stages to use podcasts to learn a foreign language. The first stage is the selection of video material on the subject of the lesson, which corresponds to the subject of the course and the interests of the target audience, is understandable and corresponds to the level of knowledge of students and reflects relevant information of sociocultural orientation. The second stage is the development of educational tasks for the podcast, aimed at developing the skills of listening, reading and speaking. The third stage is the pedagogical design of electronic content for its placement in the electronic educational environment based on LMS Moodle and it involves the selection and use of resources and elements of LMS Moodle for hosting video podcasts and tasks in the electronic environment. The fourth stage is the direct use (application) of the material in the online course to achieve the objectives of the lesson. The fifth stage is the stage of evaluating the results of students’ work by the teacher (assessment, self-assessment).

Резюме. Статтю присвячено розгляду дидактичного потенціалу технології відеоподкастингу у ство ренні та використанні навчального матеріалу в практиці викладання іноземної мови. Зазначено, що з приходом нових інформаційно-комунікаційних та мобільних технологій, їх успішною інтеграцією в освітнє середовище процес навчання іноземної мови стає цікавішим, позначений емоційною залуче ністю студентів та викладачів, а отже, є результативнішим. Мета статті – проаналізувати дос від використання можливостей технології відеоподкастингу у створенні методичного алгоритму розробки навчальних матеріалів на базі LMS Moodle для навчання студентів іноземної мови. Подано авторське визначення навчального відеоподкасту як багатофункціонального автентичного освіт нього ресурсу, що відповідає тематиці навчальної програми з іноземної мови та на основі якого розроблено комплекс різноманітних завдань для подальшого використання в освітньому процесі. Окреслено найсуттєвіші методико-дидактичні характеристики подкасту (багатофункціональ ність, багатоканальне сприйняття інформації та індивідуальна спрямованість). Визначено п’ять методичних етапів використання подкастів для навчання іноземної мови. Перший етап – відбір відеоматеріалу на тематику заняття, що відповідає тематиці курсу, інтересам цільо вої аудиторії, доступний для розуміння та відповідає рівню знань студентів, відображає актуальну інформацію соціокультурної спрямованості. Другий етап – розробка навчальних завдань до подкасту, спрямованих на розвиток умінь і навичок аудіювання, читання і говоріння. Третій етап – педагогічний дизайн електронного контенту для його розміщення в електронному освітньому середовищі на базі LMS Moodle, пов’язаний із вибором та використанням ресурсів та елементів LMS Moodle для розмі щення відеоподкасту та завдань до нього в електронному середовищі. Четвертий етап – безпосе реднє використання (застосування) матеріалу в онлайн-курсі для реалізації цілей заняття. П’ятий етап – етап оцінювання результатів роботи студентів викладачем (оцінка, самооцінка).
