Abstract: Vidékünket 47 évig uralta a szovjet hatalom, amelynek erőszakos kommunista ideológiája erkölcsromboló társadalmi folyamatokat indított el.
Abstract. Revealing the crimes of Communism is still a task left not only for historians but also for micro-historical researchers. It is absolutely commonplace and therefore, it is true that as long as we do not know our past, we can be manipulated. This statement also applies to the Transcarpathian Hungarian community, which has been experiencing the third minority existence over a century. Soviet power dominated our region for 47 years and its violent communist ideology launched social, morality destructive processes. However, they have not passed by the disappearance of the system, unfortunately they are actually present in our daily lives. What has been formulated by the Foundation for Investigation of the Communist Crimes, is true not only of today's Hungarian society, but also of the Hungarian community of Transcarpathia (both the current working age population and the young) namely, as a result of a systematic Communist misleading policy it is very difficult for them to be oriented in social, political, and moral issues. A link is missing that could be established by knowledge of the past. Sham trials are most often encountered in school history curriculum, and we tend to think that they happened/could have happened to strangers and / or important people far away from us. However after the Soviet invasion of 1944 there was probably not a Hungarian town in our region, in which a dozen or dozens of people had not been arrested and then convicted on fabricated charges in closed court proceedings. In the present study just a purge case is presented that happened back then in the current Transcarpathian village of Nagybereg. Widespread purges went on in almost all Transcarpathian villages though with different names and stories.
