Abstract: Abstract. The study endeavors to find out the perceived impact of Responsible Tourism Practices (RTPs) on destination communities’ Quality of Life (QOL). Besides, the investigation tests the mediating role of community involvement in the relationship between RTPs and QOL. A well-designed questionnaire developed from the existing literature was distributed among the tourist destination residents of Pahalgam, Kashmir Valley, India. In addition, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed to validate the EFA findings through AMOSS 22. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) technique was also applied to ascertain the impact of RTPs on QOL. Finally, the mediating role of community involvement was examined and, subsequently, the results were reported. The study’s findings resulted in a significant relationship between RTPs and QOL; thereby, RTPs have a pivotal role in enhancing the QOL of the communities. Furthermore, the investigation revealed that community involvement mediates the relationship between RTPs and QOL. Thus, the study’s achievements suggest that the locals should be involved in tourism activities to enhance the communities’ QOL.2021-06-30T00:00:00ZThe Impact of Language and Quality Education on Regional and Economic Development: a Study of 99 Countries

Abstract: Abstract. Language and quality education play an important role in enhancing the development
of regions and economies. Education systems and language policies implemented by
different countries depend upon their individual political, cultural, historic, and economic characteristics. However, it is important for each country to achieve a degree of harmony between their education and language policies (as is the case of Singapore and Ireland). This could help to improve their economic performance and accelerate the wheels of development. To investigate the impact of quality education and language on different regions and economies, this study used panel data from 99 non-English speaking economies during 2009–2017 period. Following the approach of
Barro (1991) and Mankiw et al. (1992), a baseline model was augmented (Augmented
Solow model) to include language and quality education indicators. In addition, the model was estimated using the Two-step system GMM test. The test also determined which variables could have a long-term impact on the development of the listed panel data (using STATA 15 software). The findings and estimations reveal that language and quality education have a positive impact on the regions and their economic growth. The impact of primary education quality is more significant than the impact of secondary education quality, while the impact of the English language on the development process is positive but not significant. The policy implications are that decision makers should adopt language policies which complement the education system and the economic strategy of the country.2021-01-01T00:00:00ZOvertourism in Budapest

Abstract: Abstract. The research aims to assess the extent of overtourism in Budapest. The analysis first
introduces a system of criteria for a sustainable destination, highlighting the capacity network, institutional system, structural aspects, and architectural infrastructure load of a sustainable region. A survey of the relevant literature reveals the increasing scholarly attention paid to the phenomenon of overtourism, while singling out Budapest as one of the most affected urban areas. One potential explanation for Budapest’s situation is that it developed as a result of a decreasing ability of the central districts to absorb a growing visitor load, along with a decline in the seasonal distribution of tourism. The current situation could also have emerged because the respective negative consequences were not counteracted by the inclusion of local residents. The residential segments and inhabitants were not allocated a share in the tourism-related income and, despite the steady growth in visitor numbers, they were not consulted either. The in-depth interviews with the residents of Erzsébetváros confirm that the intensity of the irritation level indicated on the Irridex scale developed by Doxy (1975) can be divided into various stages with time. As part of the research, the authors surveyed 510 international visitors concerning tourism activities. Furthermore, the study proposes solutions to the problems related to overtourism and presents a survey of relevant recommendations by international organizations. To address overtourism, the capital requires quick decisions. Demand needs to be diversified; new sustainable tourism products need to be introduced. Visitors to Budapest should be extended in space and time, while the interest of domestic tourists in the city should be raised through strong marketing activities. Stricter regulations should be adopted for local entrepreneurs; more support should be given to contactless solutions (Jamal−Budke 2020). In the post-COVID-19 period, the overtourism is reduced and the search for close-to-nature experiences is replaced by creative tourism (Nagy et al. 2018).2021-01-01T00:00:00ZEcoenergy Tourism, Study Into Some Aspects of Relationship Between Use of Renewable Energy Resources and Sustainable Regional and Rural Development

Abstract: Abstract. The use of renewable energy resources (RES) can have multiple positive effects on the development of regional and local economies. This sector has been indicating a significant and undiminished growth as well as is sensitive to maintain its environmental image. However, to sustain the sector’s success, a rather complex
system of environmental, economic, social and political requirements has to be fulfilled. Among them, this study intends to focus on some relevant social aspects. Public attitudes to RES are closely related to the level of knowledge on the various technologies that, in many cases, indicate perceived limitations. A display and
presentation of implemented projects can be of key importance in raising this limited level of knowledge as well as in providing publicity and wide-spreading these technologies. RES-related investments and facilities have become tourist attractions at several regions worldwide. Their target audiences cannot be limited to experts, but
such activities can also play an important role in environmental education. This study, based on international and Hungarian examples, intends to give a review on the extent of such potentials of the ecoenergy tourism sector exploited by the operators of implemented RES-related projects and also the possibilities of this sector be linked
with other tourism development sectors. The fulfilment of various requirements and overcoming the main challenges in order to make such implemented projects as tourist products eventually contributing not only to the sector’s successfulness, but also to the development of the region involved by RES investments is also investigated. Based on the conclusions drawn by the projects analysed, a great improvement potential seems to be available both regarding the elaboration of information and educational materials, and the integration of the ecoenergy tourism sector into other development objectives.2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
