Розвиток освіти дорослих у Великій Британії

Abstract

Резюме. Проаналізовано праці британських і вітчизняних дослідників, які свідчать, що розвиток освіти дорослих пройшов кілька етапів. Описано періодизацію основних етапів розвитку освіти дорослих в Англії, представлену С Коваленко на основі певних критеріїв та дослідницею О. Топорковою, що пропонує свою періодизацію основних етапів розвитку освіти дорослих у Великій Британії. На основі праць попередніх дослідників створено узагальнену схему еволюції розвитку освітньої системи дорослого населення Великої Британії. Виділено 10 етапів розвитку освітньої системи дорослих Великої Британії.

Abstract. The works of British and domestic researchers (C. Kovalenko, O. Toporkova, K. Titmus, P. Jarvis, T. Kelly, etc.) are analysed, which testify that the development of adult education has been several stages. It has been described the periodization of the main stages of the development of adult education in England, presented by the researcher S. Kovalenko on the basis of certain criteria (the mass education of adults, its social character, the presence of new forms – institutional and non-institutional stages of socio-economic development of the state): the stage of spontaneous development of adult education (the end of the sixth and fifteenth centuries), the educational stage of the development of adult education (the sixteenth century, the first half of the eighteenth century), the formation of adults during the industrial revolution (the end of the 18th century, the second half of the nineteenth century), the stage of formation University Adult Education (late nineteenth century. - 1917) appropriation adult education stage (1917 – beginning of the XXI century.). Researcher A. Toporkova offered her own periodization of main stages of adult education development in the United Kingdom: the preparatory stage (XVIII century 1798 - the first half of the nineteenth century: 1853), the birth of adult education in the United Kingdom in the second half of the nineteenth century, the stage of priority development of additional humanitarian education of adults (1902-1943) the stage of changing priorities in providing supplementary adult education in the UK (1944-1980) the current stage of intensive development of various forms of adult education in adults in the UK (1981 – to our time). Using the works of previous researchers, it has been created a conditional scheme (generalized) of the evolution of the educational system of the adult population of Great Britain. This educational system is presented in the table which specifies: stages, periods, peculiarities of the adult education system by periods and stages. It has been identified 10 stages of development of the adult education system in the UK. Education in the UK is not isolated from society and is under the influence of all the transformations that characterize its development.
